About us
The DCF was founded in 2013 and is a small, independent charity created to enhance the lives of local disabled children and their families. We provide our Accessible for All programme of play and sports activities, Mental Health Counselling services for our families and fund support groups and Stay and Play sessions that help bring families of disabled children together. We also have a variety of special needs equipment that can be loaned out to families, and in some cases, we provide funding for vital equipment.
In addition, we support educational workshops on disability to help raise awareness amongst the younger generations and work towards building a more inclusive society.
Each year the DCF grant at least one family the opportunity to visit Give Kids the World, a magical holiday resort in Florida, to create special memories that will last longer than a lifetime.
Our charity shops in Bournemouth cover our modest overheads so that every single penny donated goes directly to the children.
